Calgary Airport to Downtown - Route 300, CTrain, Taxi Costs

Calgary International Airport is about 17 kilometres northeast of downtown. No rail line reaches the airport; every route into the city is by road. Calgary Transit: Routes 100 and 300

Two Calgary Transit routes serve the main terminal. The stops are at the domestic terminal, Door 2, toward Pillar 7, and at the international terminal, Arrivals level, Door 15, toward Pillar 32; ticket machines there take debit, credit and cash, and the 7-Eleven on the Arrivals level sells tickets. Route 300 BRT Airport/City Centre is a limited-stop bus along Centre Street to downtown. Boarding at the airport has required a premium airport fare rather than the standard ticket; the premium has changed several times and Calgary Transit’s fares page does not list it, so check the current price at the stop or in the Calgary Transit app. Route 100 connects the airport with Saddletowne CTrain station, where the Blue Line continues downtown, all on the regular adult fare of C$4.00 (2026 rate, valid 90 minutes). Taxis and ride-hailing

Taxi stands are on the Arrivals level at Doors 1, 9 and 15, and the airport is open 24 hours. The ride downtown takes about 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic; yyc.com gives an approximate metered fare of C$40 to C$45. Airport sedans charge a flat C$68.75 to downtown from Doors 2, 11 and 15 on the Arrivals level. Uber and Lyft are the only authorized ride apps; drivers pick up on the Arrivals level at Doors 3, 12 or 15, and on the Departures level at Doors 5 and 11 at peak times. A snowfall can double travel times; allow extra time for the return trip to the airport in winter.

Hotel shuttles

Eight of the ten hotels on this site run free shuttles to and from the terminal; none of them serve downtown. yyc.com puts the hotel shuttle pick-up on the Arrivals level across from the terminal: Bus Bays 16 and 17 from Door 4, and Bus Bay 37 from Door 16. The Westin Calgary Airport, 1.6 km away, runs its shuttle on request: call the hotel. Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Airport North, Holiday Inn Express Airport Calgary and Sandman Signature Calgary Airport Hotel run theirs 24 hours; Sandman publishes exact pickup points (domestic: Arrivals Level, Door 4, Pillar 17; international: Door 16, Pillar 37). Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Airport runs its free shuttle Monday to Friday. Hotel 11 by Sonesta Calgary Airport sends its shuttle on demand from the airport and hourly from the hotel, and booking sites list the Hyatt Place Calgary Airport shuttle between 5:00 am and midnight. Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Airport runs its shuttle hourly from 4:15 am to 11:30 pm and requires a reservation. The two in-terminal hotels, the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel and Delta Hotels Calgary Airport In-Terminal, are reached on foot.

Onward to the mountains

Banff National Park is about 130 kilometres from the airport, roughly 90 minutes by car on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), and shuttle buses run from the airport to Banff and Lake Louise.
