This guide covers staying at a Calgary Airport hotel for the Calgary Stampede: the dates of the next Stampede, how to reach Stampede Park from the airport by transit, taxi or car, and which airport hotels have free parking or shuttles.
Calgary Stampede 2027 dates
calgarystampede.com lists the 2027 Calgary Stampede for July 9 to 18, 2027, and the following editions for July 7 to 16, 2028 and July 6 to 15, 2029. Stampede Park is southeast of downtown Calgary, along Macleod Trail between 12 Avenue SE and 25 Avenue SE. The ten hotels on this site are at the airport, northeast of downtown, and are an option when downtown hotels are full for Stampede dates; most of the hotel pages put downtown 15 to 20 minutes away by car.
From the airport to Stampede Park by transit
Two Calgary Transit routes serve the terminal: the stops are at the domestic terminal, Door 2, toward Pillar 7, and at the international terminal, Arrivals level, Door 15, toward Pillar 32. Route 300 BRT Airport/City Centre is a limited-stop bus along Centre Street to downtown. Route 100 runs to Saddletowne station, where Blue Line CTrains run to downtown. From downtown, Red Line trains run south to the two stations at Stampede Park, Victoria Park/Stampede and Erlton/Stampede; check the transfer station in Calgary Transit’s trip planner. Victoria Park/Stampede station is being rebuilt for the 17th Avenue SE Extension, and Calgary Transit has built a temporary platform so the station stays open.
The regular adult fare is C$4.00 (2026 rate), valid for 90 minutes, and children 12 and under ride free. Route 300 boarding at the airport has carried a premium airport fare that Calgary Transit’s fares page does not list; check the price at the stop or in the Calgary Transit app. For the 2026 Stampede, calgarystampede.com listed 24-hour CTrain service, extended hours on many bus routes and two Express Stampede bus routes; check calgarytransit.com for the 2027 service. Taxi, ride apps and driving
yyc.com gives an approximate metered taxi fare of C$40 to C$45 from the airport to downtown in normal driving conditions; Stampede Park is beyond downtown, and no fare to the park is published. Taxi stands are on the Arrivals level at Doors 1, 9 and 15, and Uber and Lyft pick up on the Arrivals level at Doors 3, 12 or 15. At Stampede Park, calgarystampede.com lists four Uber pick-up and drop-off zones and taxi service at Stampede Trail, Lot 7/8 and Macleod Trail. For drivers, calgarystampede.com lists public day parking at Stampede Park at C$30 per entry, first come, first served.

The shuttles run to the terminal only, so a guest without a car takes the shuttle to the airport and Route 300 or Route 100 from there. The Courtyard and Holiday Inn Express are each 4 km from Whitehorn station on the Blue Line. After a late return to the airport, the two in-terminal hotels are reached on foot, and Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Sandman Signature run their shuttles 24 hours a day.
