Sleeping in Calgary Airport: Terminal, Concourses, and Hotels
Calgary International Airport is open 24 hours, and passengers can spend the night in its terminal. Sleeping in the terminal
YYC has a single terminal organised into five concourses: A, B and C for domestic flights, D for international departures, and E for flights to the United States, which clear US preclearance in Calgary. The public landside areas stay open all night and security generally leaves resting passengers alone. Most seating has armrests, announcements and cleaning continue overnight, and the building runs cool in the small hours. Departures-level benches fill up during winter storm disruptions. Keep documents secured and set an alarm: security queues build for the first departure bank from about 4:00 am. The free YYC Quiet Space beside Gate A24, after security, is open 24 hours, with loungers and yoga equipment. Sleep pods, lounges and two hotels inside the airport
The yyc.com FAQ says a lounge visit can include a nap in a sleeping pod and a hot shower; its lounge listings do not name the lounge with pods. The Aspire lounges (D and E gates) and the WestJet Elevation Lounge (domestic terminal) list showers and sell pay-per-use entry. Two full-service hotels are inside the terminal complex. Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is a short walk from baggage claim, with a heated indoor pool, a spa and a 24-hour fitness centre. Delta Hotels Calgary Airport In-Terminal has no pool or spa and is usually cheaper, with soundproof windows and a 24-hour gym. Both have beds and private bathrooms a walk from the gates.
Hotels a shuttle ride away
If both in-terminal hotels are full or above your budget, seven nearby hotels run free shuttles. The Westin Calgary Airport is 1.6 km away and runs its shuttle on request; Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Airport North and Hotel 11 by Sonesta Calgary Airport are about five minutes away, and Hampton’s shuttle runs 24 hours. Holiday Inn Express Airport Calgary and Sandman Signature Calgary Airport Hotel also operate 24-hour shuttles. Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Airport runs its shuttle Monday to Friday. Booking sites list the Hyatt Place Calgary Airport shuttle from 5:00 am to midnight. Hotel shuttles pick up on the Arrivals level across from the terminal, at Bus Bays 16 and 17 (Door 4) and Bus Bay 37 (Door 16); several hotels publish exact door and pillar numbers.
Getting between concourses
